Case-Mate, an award-winning manufacturer of fashionable mobile accessories, is looking for a marketing intern, with a focus in public relations and social media, for the Summer of 2011. Case-Mate is partnered with top names in the music, art and fashion industry; including No Doubt, Nine Inch Nails, Yeasayer, Yo Gabba Gabba, Matt Moore and Chuck Anderson – and participates in events like the GRAMMY’s, SXSW, Coachella, Lollapalooza, Comic-Con and the MTV Music Awards. Since 2005, Case-Mate has had annual triple-digit revenue growth and was listed by the Atlanta Business Chronicle in 2010 as the 4th fastest growing company in Atlanta.
Intern Responsibilities:
Become a brand ambassador for Case-Mate in the social space.
Maintain and grow relationships online by building new and optimizing existing social channels, creating and distributing viral content, providing ongoing strategic counsel to marketing and eCommerce team, acting as a community relations liaison, media relations tactician, crisis management counsel and providing social media expertise.
Research, experiment and blog about innovative and emerging technologies with the goal of expanding Case-Mate’s reach into relevant online communities – and educating internal teams on relevant findings.
Develop and edit media pitches and work with targeted press on story development, support our national reviews program, tradeshows and other events.
Work with a variety of tools to produce campaign status and campaign reports measuring the effectiveness of our strategy – and use findings to benchmark against the competitive set and capitalize on future opportunities.
The Ideal Intern:
Is a rising junior or senior with excellent writing and communications skills that loves fashion, music and art.
Has an established presence/experience in several of the following social spaces: Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, WordPress, Tumblr, MySpace, Flickr, Instagram, Foursquare and beyond.
Knowledge of AP Style and experience creating press releases, media lists, news articles, blog posts and social editorial calendars.
Is enthusiastic and demonstrates eagerness to learn about social media and public relations in a fast-paced environment.
Length: Interns are expected to work a minimum of two days a week depending on their schedule. After this term, our interns can transition into part-time or full-time employment depending on intern performance and business needs. The internship will last 15 weeks from the week of Jan. 16 – April 27, 2011.
Compensation: Case-Mate will pay $8/hour and cover all related expenses to events we ask interns to attend. A letter of recommendation and reference from our PR and Social Media Managers will also be provided pending good job performance. The internship is also open to students studying in the U.S. with a valid visa.
