What’s your favorite case?
I’m a Barely There kind of girl.

Where is the craziest / funniest place or situation your phone has ever been in?
Denmark. I should preface this saying I’ve never been to Denmark. I left my phone in a hotel in France and luckily someone had turned it in so the hotel mailed it to me. How long have you been working for case-mate? What is your new role?
About two weeks. My new role is still unclear; I started by modeling but have transitioned into a muse for the Creative team.

What did you think about your interview process here?
It wasn’t too bad actually, I guess you could say I was handpicked for the job. It was by the Petco employee but still, I was handpicked.

What did you do before coming to case-mate?
Commodities Broker on Wall Street. No just kidding… it was Mutual Funds.

What phone do you currently use? Love it or hate it?
Well I don’t have a phone right now. I communicate by tapping my shell on objects to make noise to communicate. I call it my “Shell Phone.”

What was your first cell phone?
My first cell phone was a Motorola Razor, it was really hard to open and close because well… I don’t have hands.

What features do you look for in a case?
Something with a solid protective shell that can’t be seen well by predators.

What’s your favorite case?
Hmmm… Definitely the Turtle Case.

Where is the craziest / funniest place or situation your phone has ever been in?
Last summer my friends and I were at party on Lake Oconee and we spotted some really hot lady turtles. Since I can’t speak and needed to get their attention, I threw my cell phone at their rock in an attempt to get their attention. Phone was a complete loss but let’s just say they were “shell shocked” by my approach.

Favorite website or news-source?
www.ninjaturtles.com It’s the official website of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Some say that TMNT set the movement back years, but my generation owes a lot to these Swamp Blazers.

Favorite you-tube video?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CMNry4PE93Y Don’t know if this kid was serious or not but his delivery makes this the funniest video ever. He simply “likes turtles”.

Favorite phone app?
“Water we gonna do?” It’s a body of water app that shows lakes and ponds that are within crawling distance.

Guilty pleasures?
Lightning bugs. They’re yum-azing! I know my species is predominantly vegetarian but everyone has to treat themselves from time to time ;)

Water, oxygen and cuban cigars.

Tan under my heat lamp and go through peoples’ things when everyone goes home for the day.

Garrett playing his handmade electric guitar during his interview with case-mate (COO Vik Patel plays along on his “air guitar” too).

How long have you been working for case-mate? What is your new role?
I’ve been working for Case-Mate since Tuesday. I’m an Industrial Designer.

What did you think about your interview process here? Tell us the story behind the guitar.
The interview process was kind of crazy. It was pretty informal, and definitely quick. When they saw that I designed and built an electric guitar in college, they told me to play it in front of everyone as part of the follow-up interview. I thought they were kidding. They weren’t. It was fun and a little nervewracking, but I’m glad I did.

What did you do before coming to case-mate?
I was a freelance designer.

What phone do you currently use? Love it or hate it?
I have an LG Glance. I love it (and its email-less goodness).

What was your first cell phone?
Motorola Razr.

What features do you look for in a case?
Slim profile, clean lines, good protection.

What’s your favorite case?
I haven’t designed it yet.

Favorite website or news-source?
Notcot.org

Favorite you-tube video?

Favorite phone app?
FanGo.

Guilty pleasures?
Peanut butter.

What can’t you live without? Or can’t go for more than 2 hours without?
Peace and quiet.

When you’re not working at case-mate, what do you do with your spare time?
I’m still involved with lacrosse (coaching/private lessons), I play guitar, and I cook with my girlfriend (well, she cooks and I eat).

What phone do you currently use? Love it or hate it?

Right now it’s the cases from our I Make My Case personalization tool. This is a great crutch for those of us who are artistically challenged (not me of course, but for everyone else out there) :)

How long have you been working for case-mate? What is your new role?
I have been at Case-Mate for 2 weeks and 3 days. My position is Purchasing Analyst.

What did you do before coming to case-mate?
I worked for an off-price retailer called K & G for 9 years and then I worked for a uniform company for 4 months called G & K and no, they are not related.

What phone do you currently use? Love it or hate it?
I have a Sanyo/Qualcomm 3G CDMA… (Note to self: never downsize from a smartphone, my answer to the love it or hate it question)

What was your first cell phone?
My first cell phone was the original flip phone, currently residing in the Smithsonian.

What features do you look for in a case?
Something protective and pretty. I am really rough on my phones!

What’s your favorite case?
My favorite case is the VROOM.

Where is the craziest / funniest place or situation your phone has ever been in?
Okay, the funniest place my phone has been is inside my couch. Now the funny part about that is the cushions of my couch are sewn on, meaning you can’t remove them. So I would hear the phone ring, then look for it under the couch, around the couch beside the couch, etc. I basically had to tap the underside of the couch for resistance to see if something was actually in it. I also had to cut a hole in the bottom of the couch to get the phone out. Since that little incident, I have found all kinds of things inside the couch, like my house keys, books, hair supplies, pens. I try not to sit on it as much.

Favorite website or news-source?
My favorite website would be Google. Not sure how I looked up anything on the internet before Google.

Favorite you-tube video?
Favorite YouTube video is an old MadTV skit called “Can I have your number?” I could watch it over and over and still laugh like crazy.

Favorite phone app?
See type of phone answer.

Guilty pleasures?
My guilty pleasure is writing. I have a feeling that when I die, all of my writings will be discovered and I will become super famous after the fact.

What can’t you live without? Or can’t go for more than 2 hours without?
I seriously cannot live without TIVO/DVR. I actually don’t watch regular TV, I just watch Tivo.

When you’re not working at case-mate, what do you do with your spare time?
In my spare time I am either writing or completing 1000 piece puzzles.

New Employee Profile: Susan Sack

March 17th, 2010 Dayna View Comments

We’re not done adding on to our team yet! Here’s a little about Susan Sack, our new Customer Service Manager.

The picture is with my cat – Shadow. She’s my baby. Not an overly social cat – in fact unless you are immediate family – forget it! I love her though. It would be fun to bring her to work – but she’d “tear it up” with a few of the canine’s around here – and it would not be pretty :(

How long have you been working for case-mate? What is your new role?
I have been here 2 weeks and 2 days now. I am the Cusotmer Service Manager.

What did you do before coming to case-mate?
I was the Customer Care Manager for an educational software company.

What phone do you currently use? Love it or hate it?
Currently, I have a Samsung Black Jack II. It’s a love – hate relationship.

What was your first cell phone?
Wow — let’s see if I can remember. I think it was lile the Nokia 5165?? Ugh – completely dating myself!

What features do you look for in a case?
Sytlish yet durable – I am tough on my phone!

What’s your favorite case?
Well – there is no case made for my wonderful Black Jack II (This is the hate part of the relationship). My favorite case in the case-mate line – hmmm, tough to choose! I am torn between the Turtle (green/gray) and the Barely There (any color!). I can’t wait to get a new phone so I can show off my favorite cases!

Where is the craziest / funniest place or situation your phone has ever been in?
Can’t say that anything crazy or funny has really ever happened with my phone.

Favorite website or news-source?
Usually I just hit CNN.com for a quick catch up on the news of the day.

Guilty pleasures?
Curling up on the couch with a good book and a glass of wine on a rainy day… pure heaven.

What can’t you live without?
Morning – I need my coffee and am not human without it. Other than that – I am not a “must have” kinda girl.

When you’re not working at case-mate, what do you do with your spare time?
I am the quintessential soccer mom. My kids are teenagers and only my son plays anymore so it is a little less hectic – but we still spend alot of time following the bouncing soccer ball from event to event. For the last 10 years our weekends and vacations have pretty much been defined by soccer venues and tournaments. We have made great friends travelling with our soccer families over the years. With a daughter in college now and a son in HS – our soccer days are numbered. I am looking forward to re-defining what spare time means.

What I'm Doing...
