Behind the Scenes with Fergie

We spent this past weekend with Fergie in Hollywood at a glamorous photo and commercial shoot for our Case-Mate “Right Case, Right Occasion” campaign which will launch during New York Fashion Week in September.

After a long day on the set, Entertainment Tonight‘s Chris Jacobs stopped by for an exclusive behind the scenes interview with Fergie to talk about her life and how she is rocking the right case for the right occasion with Case-Mate.

The “Right Case, Right Occasion” campaign, lead by Fergie, Selena Gomez and Common; will inspire Millennials to outfit their smartphones, tablets and other portable electronic devices with cases that complement their various styles and individual personalities.

The campaign will include broadcast, digital, and social media-based programming. In addition, Fergie and Common will be co-hosting a mobile accessories fashion event for Case-Mate during New York Fashion Week.

“I’m a huge believer in changing up my look to express the way I feel – and am always looking for fun accessories to spice up my outfit so I feel confident and sexy,” said Fergie. “I’m really excited about partnering with Case-Mate – they are such a fun, edgy brand that I relate to on so many levels.”

Fergie tweeted @ChrisJacobs pic from the set.

Poppy Dinsey – Fashion Blogger to Young Entrepreneur

Who would have thought that a simple New Year’s resolution would turn into a successful blog, and then into a social networking website? Well that may not have been what Poppy Dinsey originally had in mind, but after the 24-year-old blogger launched What I Wore Today (wiwt.com) in 2010, that is exactly what happened.

How WIWT Got Started

It all began when Poppy made a resolution to wear a different outfit every single day for a year in an attempt to make better use of her current (and extremely extensive) wardrobe. In order to keep herself on track, she vowed to post a picture of her outfit to a blog every day, and hence, WIWT.com was born. Poppy quickly garnered many followers, both men and women alike, who flocked to the site for her cheeky captions, designer dresses, fashion tips and more.

WIWT’s Growing Success

With over 900,000 monthly visitors, it is safe to say that her loyal following has made Dinsey an Internet sensation. Since the sites success, she has been hired by retailers as a fashion authority and has reported from London Fashion Week and varying music festivals. The young entrepreneur now parlayed her hobby into a money-making opportunity by tagging her outfits with where to buy the clothes, therefore allowing Dinsey to receive a percentage for each sale directed through wiwt.com. She has also turning her once humble blog into a highly trafficked social networking site where anyone can upload their daily outfits with competitions where user’s can vote on which they find most fashionable.

What Case is @PoppyD Wearing Today!

We are obsessed with UK fashion blogger Poppy Dinsey at Case-Mate and were lucky enough to meet and give her a few of our cases last month in London.

For those of you who haven’t heard of WIWT.com (What I Wore Today) you need to get over there soon and join the fun!

Poppy started WIWT in January 2010 with the goal of posting one unique outfit a day, for 365 days, promising never to wear the same outfit twice. Her lifestream received so much attention that she was able to transform the site into a community-based fashion website allowing users to post their daily outfits and tag the brands they wear.

At Case-Mate we believe in matching The Right Case to The Right Occasion and wanted to make sure Poppy had a variety of fun cases to match each of her unique outfits.

Check out some of our cases that she’s been wearing below and let us know what you think.

Cinda B Cases on Movie & a Makeover

Case-Mate is making another appearance with Atlanta designer Cinda Boomershine, founder of the chic accessory line cinda b, on TBS’s popular show Movie and a Makeover. Cinda brought along several cases from our exclusive cinda b collection to feature on the Makeover set – and helped Paul, Claud and Janet make “Liar, Liar” Shanks on Fire in honor of the Jim Carrey film Liar, Liar.

When Cinda and Case-Mate met nearly a year ago, sparks flew and we shared an instant connection. Not only are we both based in Atlanta, but we’ve got that certain something in common, I guess you could call it a passion for fashion. From hand bags to mobile phone accessories, cinda and Case-Mate make the perfect pair!

Be sure to check out the episode airing on TBS Saturday, May 14 at 9/8c!

Case-Mate at the Coachella Neon Carnival

One of the hottest parties during the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival was Saturday night at the 2nd Annual Neon Carnival in Indio, California. This year’s party, hosted by Armani Exchange and 944 Magazine, was a private event attracting a wide variety of celebs and Hollywood hipsters looking to rock out and party till the sun came up.

The carnival was setup in a secluded airport 30 minutes outside the festival. While there was a long line of trendy fashion and music mavens waiting to see if their name was on the list to get into the excusive party – many celebs pulled up in their limos and were escorted straight through the front door. All they had to give was a quick interview and a few photo ops – and they were off to the party.

Everything at the carnival was free from carousel and bumper car rides to the games and alcohol. Rihanna, Leonardo DiCaprio, Vanessa Hudgins, Paris Hilton, Penn Badgly and Usher were among the many stars that cruised by the party after spending the day at the festival.

We brought our fabulous interactive photo booth to the carnival to let attendees snap photos with their friends and print it out – not on your typical Polaroid – but on a phone case! Hundreds of people jumped in line to have their pictures taken and put on a case for their smartphone.

The party continued into the early morning hours with a wild line up of DJs and an ever-growing list of Hollywood’s biggest celebs. This year’s party will be tough to beat, but we are already looking forward to next years event!
