Case-mate at the Sunset Strip Music Festival

September 15th, 2009 Andrew Knight No comments

_MG_6820

This past weekend case-mate hit the ground running in Los Angeles, California for the Sunset Music Festival. Performing at the event were artists like Ozzy Ozborne, Korn, Shiny Toy Guns, and LMFAO. This time it wasn’t just case-mate it was case-mate’s Decomplicator team in full force on the Sunset Strip, decomplicating people’s lives one I.D. case at a time.

The weekend started on Friday, with the SSMF VIP Event where celebrities and musicians were there surveying the land of free swag. The Decomplicators were there in full force decomplicating the likes of Three Six Mafia, comedian Hal Sparks, Jesse Metcalfe (you know the pool boy from Desperate Housewives!), Dating in the Dark host Rossi Morreale, actor Matthew Morrison, actor David Deluise and many others. After a long, hard day of decomplicating the rich and famous The Decomplicators headed in for the night to rest up for the actual SSMF event.

Saturday was the last day of the event and The Decomplicators were like a bull at a starting gate ready to be unleashed to decomplicate the lives of people at the SSMF. There were 5 teams of Decomplicators hitting the strip for 8+ hours handing out thousands of I.D. cases neutralizing all threat of complication. People were seeking out The Decomplicators and their coveted I.D. cases like candy out of a pinata at birthday party.

After it was all said and done and their wasn’t a single I.D. case left The Decomplicators had done their job and decomplicated the SSMF riding off into the Sunset Strip to attack the next event. Check out some live reactions to the new I.D. Case:

New Review Samples Program

September 14th, 2009 Andrew Knight 18 comments

At case-mate we strongly belive in supporting the review community.  We know how much customers value independent 3rd party reviews and we want to continue to see our products being reviewed on blogs, YouTube, & Twitter.  We pay very close attention to the feedback that is given and are always impressed with the level of detail reviewers provide.  Most of our product development activities are a direct result of customer feedback so it is important that we stay engaged with the community.

As case-mate has continued to grow, the number of review sample requests has exploded. We literally are getting hundreds of sample requests a month through our support line, Twitter, and YouTube accounts.  As much as I would like to be able to fulfill all these requests, financially it is just not possible.

To solve this problem, I am excited to announce the details of our new review samples program. Here is how the program is going to work:

  • On the 15th of every month we will pick 10 random reviewers to send cases to.
  • We will announce the reviewers selected on this blog.
  • Reviewers will have 1 month to post the review, along with a link to the review in the comments section of the blog.
  • Reviewers will be required to conduct a sweepstakes drawing to give away the review samples to their subscribers/followers/readers.
  • Please, only one submission per website/channel/reviewer. You do not need to apply each month. If you apply multiple times all entries will be deleted.

If you are an active reviewer and agree to the terms above you can sign up here.

To get things started, I am going to double the samples this month and pick 20 reviewers.  10 to reviewers to review the new iPhone 3G/3GS I.D case and 10 for all other cases.  You have until Tuesday night to sign up for the first month!

**Reviewers must be 18 years of age or older.**

Exclusive Interview with Recession Case Designer Matt Shackleford

September 10th, 2009 Andrew Knight No comments

Matt Shackleford

Tell us a little about yourself?
My name is Matt Shackleford, I like long walks on the beach under glowing moonlight and wolf tees. I work in marketing here at case-mate and I’m actually still in school for marketing finishing up in a couple months and I’m newly and happily engaged!

How long have you been with case-mate?
I have been at case-mate a horses hair under a year.

What inspired you to design the recession case?
Well my inspiration for the recession case is pretty evident in the name.  So many people are in a pinch right now i figured there had to be a way to make light of the situation so I thought why not have a $0.99 iPhone case? (which is ironic itself, having an iPhone during a recession) and really the only material that was feasible enough was cardboard, so I thought it would be sweet to have a $0.99 cardboard iPhone case to still provide something cool that is affordable, because so much of what i see out there that is funny, clever, or just straight up awesome design is way out of my price range.

What makes the recession case so special?
I mean what doesnt make this case special, its the only one of its kind. Plus what other case or product for that matter contains this much awesomeness under a buck, and yes I’ll stand beside the recession case and say that it beats a $0.89 Taco Bell taco.

Do you think the recession case will inspire a new generation of iPhone designers?
I sure hope so! i didnt go to school for Industrial Design and I don’t know anything about how that stuff works, all i know is that i wanted a cheap, cardboard iphone case and let the pros help me make it happen! And as DHT sings “just listen to your heart.”

What are we going to see next from the Shackleford design studio?
If you play your cards right i might leak out some photos on Twitter @mshackleford (SHAMELESS SELF PROMOTION!!!)
